Fire Resistant Coating for Steel Structures

Henan Banggu's Fire Resistant Coating for Steel Structures is a safe way to protect your steel structures. Thanks to more than 30 years of experience making coatings, our intumescent protective option provides excellent fire protection for up to 6 hours. This coating quickly expands when exposed to flames, creating a thick carbonised insulation layer that keeps steel from deforming and structures from falling down. It was made for industrial plants, warehouses, business buildings, and public facilities. Our product keeps your important building projects safe for a long time with a thermal conductivity of ≤0.12 W/(m·K) and a heat transfer reduction rate of ≥45%.

Why Choose Our Fire Resistant Coating for Steel Structures?

Fire Protection Performance

Every second counts when there is a fire. Our layer quickly expands to form a tough shield that blocks heat and keeps steel temperatures low. This keeps your beams, supports, and arches from losing their ability to hold weight at crucial times.

Depending on the thickness of the layer, the fire protection ranges from 0.5 to 6 hours. With this much freedom, you can make sure that the project's needs are met without over-engineering or losing materials.

Lightweight and Decorative

Our thin-film coating doesn't add much weight to your building like heavy fire safety systems do. This is important when working with plans that need to be light or when making changes to buildings that are already there.

The smooth, expert finish comes in white and light grey as normal, but you can ask for other colours as well. You don't have to make your fire safety look mechanical; it can fit right in with your design.

Fast Application, Quick Results

On building projects, time is money. The top of our products dries in just half an hour to an hour, and the coating is fully dry in twelve to twenty-four hours. Spraying, brushing, or rolling are all ways to apply it. Spraying is best for big jobs because it works faster and better.

When building times are short, projects can be finished faster and work can move on to the next one without being held up by bad weather.

Environmentally Safe and Certified

The people who work for you and live in your building deserve safe goods. Our covering doesn't have any flammable chemicals that are bad for you and it meets the standards of the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System. After curing, it doesn't smell bad and is safe to use in shopping areas, office buildings, workplaces, and home projects.

Two important standards have been met: ISO 9001 for quality management and ISO 45001 for health and safety at work. Also, our goods meet the national standards set by GB 14907-2018 and come with full fire safety product test reports that make inspections go smoothly.

Fire Resistant Coating for Steel Structures

Strong Adhesion and Durability

With a bonding strength of at least 0.15 MPa, the layer stays firmly attached to steel surfaces and doesn't blister or peel. Our product's water resistance hasn't changed after 72 hours of testing, so you can be sure it will work well in the long run.

With a service life of more than 10 years and great anti-aging qualities, the safety you buy will last.

How It Works: Intumescent Technology Explained

You might wonder what "intumescent" means. Simply put, when exposed to fire, our coating undergoes a chemical reaction. It rapidly foams and expands—sometimes up to 50 times its original thickness—creating a dense carbonized insulating layer.

This expanded layer acts as a thermal barrier, blocking flames and heat from reaching the steel surface. By slowing the temperature rise, your steel structure maintains its strength and stability during fire events, giving occupants precious time to evacuate safely.

FAQ

Q1: Why are solvent-based and water-based coatings different?

A: Water resistance, adhesion, hardness, and drying speed are improved by solvent-based coatings. Their durability and speed make them perfect for interior jobs. Water-based coatings stink less, dry slower, and have weaker water resistance but are greener.

Fire Resistant Coating for Steel Structures

Q2: What criteria does it meet?

A: We meet national standard GB 14907-2018 "Fireproof Coatings for Steel Structures" and provide complete national fire protection product test results for fire safety inspections.

Q3: What square metre can one kilogram cover?

A: Approximately 1.2-1.5 kg/m² per millimetre of thickness is the theoretical coverage. The fire-resistant thickness you design determines coverage. Fire ratings of 2 hours may need 3.0–4.5mm thickness.

Q4: Is rust protection needed?

A: Absolutely. RUST removal and priming provide good adherence and long-term performance.

Q5: Can fireproof coatings be topcoated?

Fire Resistant Coating for Steel Structures

A: Compatible solvent- or water-based topcoats can be applied after drying. This improves visual attractiveness, stain resistance, and durability without affecting fire resistance.
